Whether they are images of a painting or of a drawing etc because they can be displayed on a computer screen or a flat canvas as an image they are more widely available and have reached a greater audience. This has caused its own divisions in the art world as some dispute the benefits of this cannibalism of art.

Images in art struggle to capture the depth of the original piece of work. These paintings under paintings provide as much mystery and help build the aura surrounding a particular painting.

Photography and art have become more closely aligned in the last thirty years as technologies have enable different practises to help personalise the art of developing a picture or image. Events such as the World Photographer of the Year contests draw expectant crowds from all over the world to view the work from the last year.
